Coiling a Fairy

Coiling is one technique that I use to make my ceramic fairies. I roll the clay into coils and then use the coiling technique I add the coils one by one to form the body of the sculpture. With this technique you can create any shape or size you want. I love the handmade look I get to the piece with using coils. It’s also very fun to do.

I have to roll many coils out of clay. I use stoneware clay.
